Christian Mirra asks: 'What remains of democracy when access to power is limited to choices defined by the elite? While we appear to have two visions, both sides ultimately serve the same agenda, leaving voters without a true alternative as inequality and corporate control persist. This dynamic is especially evident in the U.S. two-party system, but it’s increasingly visible in European and Latin American democracies, where any emerging alternative— Syriza in Greece, Podemos in Spain, La France Insoumise in France, Gustavo Petro in Colombia...—is swiftly marginalized or dismantled through media bias, lawfare, or exclusion. Is it still democracy when only elite-approved options can thrive?'
